M&M Cookies

These delicious M&M Cookies have chewy edges, soft centers, and they are packed with M&M’s and chocolate chips. This recipe comes together quickly and easily – with a short chill time.
These are fun to make with your children.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cup AP flour 188g – sifted
  • 1 tsp baking powder sifted with flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt sifted with flour
  • 1 stick unsalted butter softened (1 stick = 1/4 cup = 4 oz = 113g)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar 70g
  • 1 each large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup M&M's

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and both sugars for 1-2 minutes, until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined and scraping the sides of the bowl as needed. On low speed, add in flour mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Gently stir in 1 cup of the M&M's. Reserve 1/2 cup that get pressed on top of the cookie dough balls before baking.
  • Chill the dough approximately 30 minutes.
  • Take 2 Tbsp of dough and roll into a ball and place on parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Using the reserve M&M's press 5-7 pieces into each dough ball.
  • Bake for 12-16 minutes, less time for a softer cookie, longer time for a slightly crisp cookie.
  • Remove from oven and all to set. Place on wire rack to cool.
